Background
High growth, venture-backed technology company grew quickly from 50 employees to 500 employees in 5 offices around the world and recognized the need for structure and process in their compensation program.
Challenges
Fierce competition for talent within the global technology market and significant hiring in a short period of time meant existing individual employee cash and equity arrangements were bespoke and widely varied, even for employees with the same scope / impact. Their leadership expressed the need to maintain flexibility and their entrepreneurial spirit while struggling to balance being globally competitive and paying responsibly in local markets.
Results
We helped this organization successfully implement localized national cash compensation structures and regionally differentiated equity grant guidelines for each of its corporate, sales, and engineering populations. We also modeled individual employee impact and established transition plans to move employees onto the structures. The organization continues to partner with Southlea on its annual compensation agenda.
